Some more money making ideas I thought of in my bath this morning....
1. Decade member. £1,500 upfront payment gives season ticket to all home games for 10 years, chosen reserved seat in new stand, and ability to purchase drinks in the Toff's bar.
2. Angels credit card. I understand banks pay £40 to £50 for each card issued, plus % of spend on it.
3. Free entry for Under 10's at Fleet game, if accompanied by a paying adult.
4. Season ticket to watch 13 remaining first team home games, plus all reserve games - £75.
5. Increase bar prices. Pint of piss was £2.50 at Sittingbourne yesterday.
6. Auction of promises, to include one promise from each player.
7. Blues Preferred Supplier scheme. Local shops, pubs and businesses pay annual subscription to be named in programme and be frequented by supporters.
8. Share issue. No point issuing ordinary shares, but create special share in club that gives rights of discount on season ticket, seat in new stand, purchase drinks in Toff's bar, regular update meetings with Chairman and Manager, then rights of repayment or dividend should club ever reap a major money windfall.
Apart from rob a bank, that's it until my next bath.

Jonathan some good ideas there. I recently suggested a share issue to Paul at the recent Management & Supporters meeting. I also suggested the Auction of Promises, both to Paul and later to Steve Churcher, who l know raised the matter at the last supporters club committee meeting. I also like your other posting idea of a "sponsorship sale". I read somewhere, sometime ago, in the NLP that another club had tried this with some degree of success. I think £ 1,000 a ticket might be a bit keen for some "potential" investors, but at £ 500 a go, its got to be worth a try. The "commuted" or "long term" membership is also worth consideration, not dissimilar in a way to a system run by my "other" team, Torquay United, who have an "Executive Vice Presidents" membership giving those willing to pay a bit more for their season ticket, their own bar, seat etc.
The only drawback with some of these long term schemes, is that they may be the cure to the immediate problem but where do we go when the same situation arises again in a year or two's time.
Fundamentally, the club has two main problems. The first, afflicting all clubs at lower football league and non-league level is the high cost of player's wages. I for one do not blame the players for trying to maximise their earnings from a limited career span. The fault lies with the pay levels at the top of the game, the effects of which have filtered right down. The football league & conference are trialing the "salary capping" scheme this year, which will eventually become formal legislation l'm sure as clubs seek to avoid stringent penalties for non-compliance. I believe eventually, that this will filter down to our level in the coming years and the problem may ease slightly. The second problem at TAFC is the effective reliance on the same very few Directors to supplement the shortfall in club finances. We, the supporters, cannot expect these guys to continue doing this forever. They desperately need support from new & willing Director's, but as l'm sure Paul would willingly tell anyone, they are not easily come by !!!
Good to see your post Jonathan and the general positive approach and ideas that l'm hearing from many loyal supporters. That's what's needed at this time. Hopefully, some good will come of it.
