Playing a KSC tie on a Saturday reminds me of a match years ago.
One upon a time, there was A Top Non-league Club who were so Top that they were allowed to play the KSC final on their own ground.
Despite the support of their Ted and George Pixley, the Top Non-league Club managed to lose the final at home against a team that played its home matches on half of an old cricket pitch.
There's no moral to this tale, except that some of us have been watching and waiting for a long time.

The only worthwhile reason for beating Erith on saturday would be to play the FruitPickers from the county town in the next round,as we know that 3 or 4 hundred of them come out of the woodwork for a cup game. They have to beat Folkestone first ,which they won't ,if Folkestone put out a full strenght team.

This thread and the fact that it's FA Cup day today reminds me of another fairy tale story when a down-on-its-luck-and-much-ridiculed side secured an away tie to higher league opposition. The tie was only 20 miles along the road. Despite being the 'smaller' side in the tie the down-on-its-luck-and-much-ridiculed side took over the stadium of the higher side and had the affront to beat them3-2 despite being 2-1 down at half time. The fans in amber and black found great joy in singing cheerio to the 300 blues fans creeping out of the stadium five minutes before the end.
The moral of the story: While others dream of the seventies the amber and black have achieved their story in this millennium.
PS The apple pickers would love to come to your oh so massive metropolis and drink in one of your two or three town centre pubs. Would there be enough room to accomodate all of our out-of the-woodwork fans. ;D

What a witty reposte.
I would have hoped for something better than babyish name-calling from someone who is on silver.
I take it you had no real reply then?

Why don't you go back to Sh*ttingbourne's message board - you seem to spend quite a lot of time there amongst like minded people - brain dead inbreds.

Can anybody tell me exactly what it is that Maidstone have won recently? If they've done so well. why are they still playing in The Village League?

0/10 for Exiled Angel's reply. Just a load of abuse really. To say I spend most of my time on the Sittingbourne website is a bit silly and makes you look even less credible.
Stuart - marginally better, although not very original. To answer the question we have won the Kent County League Division 1 title, The Kent League, The Kent League Cup, The Kent Senior Trophy, Kent League Charity Shield and been runners-up in the County League (unless you decide that the strange awarding of a 1-0 win but no goals against is legitimate - unimportant now as we went up anyway) and Kent League. We have also won about £12k in the FA Cup including a 3-2 win at your ground (perhaps you were on holiday with the rest of your MASSIVE and noisy support that day). We couldn't go up in our first season of the Kent League due to the ground situation. Not bad for the last ten years considering we were non-existent and had come up through the pub leagues again.
And yourselves. What have you done to set the world on fire? I note that you were playing in the 'Village League' but 10 years ago.
I find the term village league interesting as Tunbridge Wells is in it.That's the bigger, more interesting, more well known town just down the road from you. If that is a village then Tonbridge must surely be a hamlet?
In addition I am still awaiting the answer as to why your supporters go to much effort to have a go at supporters of an unimportant, 'Village League' team. Making silly banners, constantly posting threads about us. For something so unimportant you do seem to take a lot of trouble to notice us. I'llawait an answer but suspect I'll just get abuse because I'm hitting a raw nerve (it's called the truth).
;D

Quote 1: ''I find the term village league interesting as Tunbridge Wells is in it.'' ... you must get out more NWS - how the hell can anyone find Tunbridge Wells interesting? Quote 2: ''I note that you were playing in the 'Village League' but 10 years ago.'' ... which means, NWS, that in 10 years time you might be in our position. Quote 3: ''If that is a village then Tonbridge must surely be a hamlet'' ... not doing too badly for a hamlet are we? And now for the anticipated abuse: 'NWS' = Not Worth Shit = Maidstone

NWS - You seem to have a complex about our alledged interest in Maidscum Utd. Surely you're the one obsessed about Tonbridge considering the number of posts you make on this message board.
You really should get out more - perhaps to see a proper football club actually going somewhere rather than spending yet another season watchin the "mighty" Stones slog it out with the likes of Sporting Bengal etc

NWS - Did I not make my point clear in the other thread. As you took so much time to write up that post I've used it for testing the "Delete Post" button that I hadn't had the opportunity to test before. This thread is now locked.
