I can confirm that Alan Walker has not resigned and will be managing the team tomorrow.
I have to say that the comments on this forum have been fair this week and some of the good ideas will be considered.
I can clear up some confusion .
SPONSORSHIP
The deal with ICI/Brewers for sponsorship was for £25000 per year but was brokered by an individual in ICI . Brewers were the vehicle to forward this sum to the football club . It was agreed for 3 years and some additional income was due last January . We were £15000 short of this income but the Directors invested this sum to keep the team and club going and this was a good decision as the end of the season proved . We were assured that £25000 would be received in August . Alan was present when this assurance was given . Regretfully , the resignation of an individual who had helped us so much in the past led to our not receiving the £25000 from ICI/Brewers . Brewers to their absolute credit donated £5000 to the club as a gesture .Therefore we were suddenly £20k short in sponsorship with the team doing so well and the ealry exits from cups which would have kept us going lost us £7k of income .
On the positves now , we have had pledges of cash , not enough to recover our shortfall , Blueball Lottery ticket sales have been boosted in recent weeks - we are now making £140 clear profit per week and have started to recruit field agents . Every game will be sponsored and even at this late stage we are still in negotiation with potential sponsors to replace ICI /Brewers..
It is my belief that if Alan decides to leave we would not see a mass exodus of players as why should players leave when we can afford to pay them and we are top of the league . We cannot afford the entire player and management budget but we can afford £1500 net per week which is very competitive for this league.
Myself and my two fellow Board members despite the stresses we have endured recently will not allow the club to go into serious financial difficulty . We want to see the club promoted this season . As always we are looking for investment and if any benefactor is in a better financial position than myself I would be willing to gift my shares and remove loans I have made to the club - that is how much I care for our success . If not I will continue to move the club forward despite the recent problems .
I hope Alan stays with us , if not we will attempt to immediately stabilise the playing staff and ensure we complete the season financially sound and PROMOTED
